David has over 35 years experience in chartered accountancy and has been in his own practice for over 30 years. He specialises in advising clients on taxation and trust planning issues. When not in the office, David enjoys getting outside for a round or five of golf.

Ruth is one of the Managing Directors and owners of Walthall Ward. She is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), is Xero and MYOB certified and has over 20 years experience providing Business Advisory and Accounting services to clients.

Ruth and her husband John have two teenage children. Their daughter is passionate about dance and spends all of her spare time at her dance studio, while their son is involved in athletics and has represented his club and school at various athletics competitions.

When not working Ruth spends her time between dance studios and athletics meets. In her ‘spare’ time she enjoys tap dancing, baking and spending time at the beach. Ruth is a regular blood, plasma and platelet donor.

Catherine joined the practice in October 2005. She and her husband Harry have two beautiful adult daughters, both of whom are currently at university. She enjoys a regular morning walk up One Tree Hill.

Catherine is a keen hand embroiderer and lacemaker, and often attends embroidery conferences around the world. In fact, she will try her hand at any handcraft. She also enjoys gardening, cooking and baking, especially sourdough bread.

Casey joined us in May 2022. She has a Bachelor of Accounting from AUT. She is married to Evan and they have two cute kids. Casey enjoys spending time with them, hanging around playgrounds and enjoying the beach. In her spare time she enjoys yoga. Casey speaks Mandarin as a first language.

Carole joined us in March 2015 and is responsible for our administrative functions. She has a Bachelor of Business from Manukau Institute of Technology and has a varied employment history, including legal secretary, advertising sales and marketing, and administration for a wine club in Australia. She has over 12 years experience in Practice Management for accountancy firms.

Carole and her husband Rob have a teenage daughter who is enthusiastic about art and design. They love to travel overseas as a family and experience new cultures, foods and adventure activities.
